story:

ive been shooting for over a well over a decade. a past partner bought me a cheap outdated Canon EOS 40D to play with while she shot her projects. i played along. i fussed. i got curious. i began to enjoy. i saw some progress. i began to take it a bit more seriously. i looked back after 10 years and saw so much blatant progress that i found a renewed joy in the hobby. since then ive really come to adore the act of photography itself. it lets me slow down, breath and better take note of my environment. better connect with where i am. better connect with myself… for that, i find photography a wonderful extension of myself, my subconscious, my current abilities. even if others dont see what i see, i still live and breath the act as a chance to formally express myself. for there are so few ways to effectively express who we truly are to those around us, and so many ways to get it wrong. i will never say im great at photography, but i will be proud of continuing to grow in the practice to better express who i am. in that i am content. in that i am quite proud of my work. my hope is for you to share this feeling as well.

i greatly enjoy shooting on fujifilm. since giving up on photography, after hauling around that cumbersome Canon for years, i picked up the fujifilm X100V on a loose whim. it reconnected me with photography, with the world i visit and with myself. for that ill be a lifelong enthusiast to the brand. so much so that i wanted to mention it here, briefly.

it is not easy to express one’s self so publicly, but it is necessary.
